Taste of Life: Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 cups crushed pretzels
cup (1 sticks) butter or margarine, melted
1 tablespoon sugar
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 ounces whipped topping 1  cup confectioners sugar
2 (3-ounce) packages strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 (10-ounce) packages frozen strawberries

Preparation

Mix the pretzels, butter and sugar in a bowl. Press into a 9x13-inch glass baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for eight minutes. Let stand until cool. Beat the cream cheese, whipped topping and confectioners sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth. Spread over the cooled crust. Dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water in a heat-proof bowl. Add the frozen strawberries and stir until broken apart. Spread over the cream cheese mixture. Chill, covered, for 3-12 hours before serving.
